Mapping your company’s skills and professions

As part of its cycle dedicated to GEPP (“Gestion des Emplois et des Parcours Professionnels”), the KYU team organized a webinar designed to help companies map and characterize their professions and associated skills.

To implement a GEPP, the first essential step is to build up a skills and competencies repository, by:

  • Making an inventory of the trades present in the company;
  • Drawing up job descriptions to enable an objective assessment of resources, recruitment and anticipation of future needs;
  • Creating a skills repository that will enable the company to structure its training plans and build professional and integration paths in line with its needs and prospects.

During this webinar, we provided a number of tips to facilitate the conduct of this type of exercise, and gave concrete advice on how to:

  • Structure the mapping, notably through the exploitation of the work carried out by professional branches;
  • Draw up job descriptions, detailing the headings that should be included and the editorial rules to adopt;
  • Use AI to match jobs to occupations, or to produce first versions of job descriptions for personalization;
  • Build your skills repository.

We also explained how repositories can be operationally used and create value, even before they are finalized.

Our cycle of webinars dedicated to GEPP will continue over the coming months, and will enable us to focus on other stages of the approach. The next one will be dedicated to the development of training paths, and will take place on November 26, 2024 (free registration on our Webikeo channel).
